Given its many medicinal properties, many indigenous people consumed the tree’s bark in the form of a tea. In addition to Lapacho having a very high concentration of trace minerals and trace elements such as iron, potassium, calcium, manganese, and magnesium; lapacho also has strong antibiotic effects, it can relieve infections, allergies, and skin conditions, it is able to reduce cardiovascular issues, and remarkably, it can even help in the fight against tumours thanks to its alkaloids that can stop the growth of tumour cells.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/2″][vc_column_text el_class=”justi”]South American Indians have known of its healing powers for centuries and used the bark of the Lapacho tree (which grows tall, has lovely blossoms, and may live up to 700 years) as a remedy for a variety of illnesses. The inner reddish-brown bark, which is picked once or twice a year, is grated finely, and is used to make tea. Only after the tree reaches an age of 40 years does it have the amount of active substances that is suitable for medicinal use. Preparation<\/h3>\n

Cook for five more minutes, then let the tea steep for 15 – 20 minutes. Once strained, feel free to add some honey or sugar to enhance the flavour.
