Description
Culinary Matcha is a finely ground Japanese green tea powder intended primarily for culinary use. Its more intense character allows the flavour of matcha to remain distinctive when combined with milk, plant-based alternatives or other ingredients.
The finely ground powder has a light yellowish-green colour. Mixed with water, it produces a light green, opaque drink with a fine, pale layer of foam when whisked.
Its flavour is more pronounced and astringent than that of higher-grade matchas intended primarily to be enjoyed on their own. This makes it particularly suitable for matcha lattes, smoothies, cocktails, ice cream, creams, cakes and other desserts, where the distinctive character of matcha needs to remain noticeable alongside other ingredients.

Preparation
Sift 2–3 g of Culinary Matcha into a chawan or cup, then add approximately 70–100 ml of water at 75–80 °C. Whisk with a chasen or handheld frother until smooth and foamy.
It can also be enjoyed on its own, but its more intense character makes it particularly well suited to combining with milk, plant-based alternatives or other ingredients for culinary use.
Secret tip – Matcha in the kitchen
When using Culinary Matcha for a latte, smoothie, cake or dessert, sift the powder first, then mix it thoroughly with a small amount of warm water until smooth. This concentrated matcha base is easier to combine evenly with the other ingredients and helps prevent small lumps from forming.
For a Matcha Latte, whisk 2–3 g of Matcha with 40–50 ml of water at 75–80 °C, then add approximately 150–200 ml of warm or cold milk or a plant-based alternative. For an iced version, simply pour over ice.
